Berkshire General Surgeons is a group of highly trained specialists operating
out of Dunedin Hospital in Reading, providing state of the art treatment and
care for all routine and complex general and colorectal surgery problems.

Areas of special interest include the modern management of haemorrhoids including
the pain free HALO operation and gallstones, as well as laparoscopic and open operations
for hernias, colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. All three surgeons are
experienced endoscopists and perform colonoscopy and gastroscopy.

The Surgeons promote the Enhanced Recovery Program and are specially trained in
minimally invasive surgical techniques which significantly reduce the post-operative pain
experienced by the patient as well as the length of hospital stay and promote quicker
recovery. This multi-disciplinary group also has expertise in recent surgical advances such
as haemorrhoidal artery ligation, diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy and
laparoscopic bowel surgery.
